A sense of soul Portrait paintings
My work capture a general representation of a persons soul in that picture.However, not every picture of a person manage to do that. Least of all if the person is posing. Natural pictures of who they are project that feeling. When I pick that up. I know what to paint.
Looking at it, you catch a glimmer of thier life. Its like for a little bit you can connect with them, portrait paintings that empathise the subject. Its unique for each person, but at the same time ambiguous enough to not know what makes them unique. Vanessa Steyn
